4 Essential Tips on Choosing Your Wedding Invitations
November 30, 2009
Most couples will know that the wedding invitations will set the tone of your wedding. This is why you have to make sure that you will try your best to make the invitation cards unique and special. To this end, you will need to discover some tips to make your choice.
As a matter of fact, a lot of couples do not know how to choose the wedding invitations. There are just too many designs and choices in the market. There are a few essential factors you have to consider.
1. Theme of the card
The theme is probably the first issue you consider when you are planning a wedding. This is also true when you are planning for your wedding invitations. In most cases, you will make the theme of the cards inline with that of your event. This will create a sense of uniqueness of both your event and the card.
2. Materials of the invitation
There are various materials you can choose from. Of course in most cases you will choose paper as the main material of the card. There are also different types of paper. For example, you may want to go for 100% cotton paper if you are going to choose a letterpress card. There are also a lot of other choices. You will need to consider both the texture and thickness of the paper you are going to choose. Usually, the cover of the card will be thicker.
3. Working with a designer
There are a lot of choices in the market. However, there may be brides and grooms who want to make the wedding invitations very unique and special. You may need to work with a designer in this case. The idea here is that you will need the help from the designer to create your own wedding cards. You need to work closely with the designer so that you can get what you really want.
4. When to order the cards
You need to make sure that your guests will have enough time to reply you after they receive your wedding invitations. You will need to send the cards at least 12 weeks before your big day. This means that you will need to order the cards even earlier. Usually, it can take up to 6 months for you to produce the cards. As a result, you may need to order them 7 months before your big day. It is always a good idea for you to order early.
Now, you should understand how you are going to choose your wedding invitations. As a matter of fact, it is not difficult for you to make your choice. Remember, you will need to consider both your preference and the practical issues. A balance between them will be essential. You will also have to consider your budget. You will not choose a design which is not affordable. This is because you do not want to be in debt after your wedding. If you have a tight budget, there are also a lot of companies which will provide discount items.
Good luck!

Infertility Research: IVF Treatments Extremely Successful
November 30, 2009
Infertility research has shown that infertility has become an increasing concern all over the world. It is indeed one of the most common issues that couples deal with in this fast paced world of ours. Infertility problems have always existed. However, there were very few couples that would speak about the problem due to the social stigma associated with this medical condition. Also, people didn’t have as much faith and belief in medical science as they have today.
Due to the increased stress factors and anxiety in today’s fast paced world, people are now experiencing different physical constraints and infertility is on the rise. There are many couples trying to have a baby, but they have failed for one reason or another. The reason could be related to female infertility, male infertility, or a combination of both. It is also possible that there is an unknown explanation. Although the problems are real there is usually some good news for most couples. A large majority of infertility cases are treatable, either naturally or medically.
Although it is not usually the first option, there is one treatment that has been highly successful. That treatment is IVF or In Vitro Fertilization.
IVF is a unique reproduction technique in which the egg cells are fertilized outside of the womb. The procedure is carried out in a vitro or glass (laboratory dish). The male sperm and the female egg are manually combined and fertilized producing a viable embryo. After the fertilization is completed, the embryo is placed back into the female’s uterus. IVF is sometimes a last resort alternative for couples with specific infertility problems. An infertility specialist will usually place multiple embryos back in the womb, which may lead to multiple births. The reason for the use of multiple embryos may be related to either cost associated with the procedure or the specialist’s interest in building a higher success rate for his/her practice. Multiple births are the number one risk associated with this form of infertility treatment. Multiple births usually create a premature delivery, which in turn may be stressful on the unborn babies as well as the mom.
Infertility is caused due to various reasons as stated before, and sometimes without any diagnosable reason as well. IVF infertility treatment is a complicated and very expensive procedure that may or may not be covered by your insurance. This procedure is usually not recommended unless the couple has tried all other options available to conceive naturally.
IVF is not for everyone; there is an eligibility criterion that is used to determine who the best candidates are for this procedure. Those who are excluded from this treatment include women over the age of 40, women that have a damaged uterus and men who do not have potent sperm.
IVF infertility treatment is 5-step process. Here are the different steps:
1. Super ovulation (Ovarian stimulation)
2. Egg retrieval
3. Fertilization
4. Embryo culture (Selection of embryo quality)
5. Embryo transfer
These five steps are followed categorically one after the other to achieve the desired result, which is pregnancy.
IVF is a difficult procedure and should be carried out by a highly qualified infertility specialist. Work with your OB/GYN to get a referral before choosing the best specialist for you. Do your homework and make sure that you get a list of referrals that you can contact to get feedback from former clients. Not only are you about to spend a large amount of money but also the health concerns of your unborn child and yourself is at stack. Once you have found a specialist make sure that your OB/GYN councils with the specialist about your case. I don’t want to scare you, however since IVF has become so popular there are some scams being inflicted on unsuspecting couples. Do your research and make sure you have your OB/GYN involved in the selection process.

Are You a Collector Collecting Collectibles?
November 30, 2009
Anything that exists is fair game for collectors. It seems everyone collects something. For some of us that is debt. The best known items for collecting are stamps and coins. Both are interesting and readily available to all, but the really great stuff is too expensive for us worker bees.
Collecting is at least as old as mankind and probably predates us. Among collectors there is a distinction between collecting the really old (antiques) and the not so old (collectibles). While it seems to me that anything one collects would be a “collectible”, those who collect antiques feel the need to be separated from the great unwashed. That’s OK by me though I do wash regularly.
Anything that attracts your interest is a good candidate for collecting. Porcelain figurines are a very popular area of interest. Most people get very specific with their figurines. They choose all angels, or dragons, or fairies, or whatever. Unlike stamps and coins, the best collectible figurines are not confined to the most expensive. Sometimes a majority of a collection may be porcelain, but enhanced by other things. I once knew a lady who collected owls. Many of the owls were porcelain, but many others were of other materials such as wood, fabric, different metals, and some pictures. It just had to be an owl to qualify.
I have over the years collected some things other than dust and debt such as glass insulators, chess sets, and for a while, rocks. Not gemstones mind you. Rocks. These were all brief interests. I’m like an old hound. My attention is focused until the next rabbit runs.
Collectibles generally need to be either pretty, unusual, or have some historical significance. Pretty usually attracts the female collectors, historical to the males, and unusual grabs everyone, with overlaps in all categories. There of course, are other reasons for collecting and in some cases, no apparent reason at all. If asked, you may not be able to answer why you collect whatever it is that you collect. At any rate, the only criticism you have to listen to is your own.
Most people are collectors without being aware of it. If you should take note and realize that you have a lot of snuff boxes laying around that just seemed to accumulate, then you are in fact a snuff box collector whether you ever dipped snuff or not. Now you need to organize. Catalog each item and document every single fact you have, no matter how insignificant it seems. You may or may not be interested in the value of your collection, but over time, if you have really good documentation, your progeny may actually do something with your “stuff” other than dumping it.
Some people plan their collections in that they research the item before deciding to collect or not. These people are concerned with the collection as an investment. This is a risky business as collections of anything are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Beware of publications listing prices of collections. They can be disastrously misleading. Once you find yourself collecting something though, cataloging and researching each item will enhance not only the value of the collection but your pleasure as well.
Collections are not limited to tangible, inanimate objects. Many people collect fish, birds, dogs, cats, and other living things. Others collect intangibles such as travels, memories, sightings, and such. The intangibles would be hard pressed to be collections without documentation. While these collections have no monetary value, their worth cannot be measured by those doing the collecting.
There is a wealth of information on collecting on the internet. Much of it is general in nature, but with diligent searching, one can find information on collecting the specific of their choice. A starting point for your search is http://www.uniquegiftsandfigurines.com/

Why It’s Essential to Use Keywords in Your Resume
November 30, 2009
You may have heard that it is essential to use keywords in your resume but not know why. Have you ever wondered how potential employers sift through the hundred and possibly thousands of resumes that they get and come up with those they want to interview? What sets one person apart from the next? In a nut shell, it’s the keywords.
Many companies today now rely on keywords to help them determine who should get the interview and who should be skipped over. This is done thanks in large part to the every expanding technological world in which we live. Many employers will now take the resumes that are handed in for a certain position and use a special type of keyword recognition software that can sort the numerous amounts of resumes in a matter of minutes and give the potential employer a list of qualified candidates in accordance with the keywords they input into the program. In addition, these same employers will often use the same software to search resumes on different third party sites such as Monster.com and HotJobs.com. The point is that if you are applying to one of these companies and you are not using keywords in your resume then your chances of getting an interview are nil.
Now you will never know which companies employ this tactic, though some estimates have the number of large companies doing this at about 80 percent, and you will also never know the exact keywords they are looking for, but usually the keywords are nouns. With the advent of the internet now you can do some searching for keyword ideas related to your job sector and come up with some ideas relatively easily. So now how do you use them?
A lot of people will tell you to use the keywords liberally in the first 100 words or so in the resume as this are likely where the databases search, but that theory is quickly giving way to new thoughts and procedures. Now experts are suggesting that you not only use your keywords on a heavy basis towards the beginning, you need to also lightly sprinkle them throughout the entire resume. This will accomplish two things. The first is that the resume will not look compacted towards the top and the second is that it will read in a more fluid fashion if the keywords are spread out properly. While this may not be important if a computer program is searching the resume, your resume may actually fall into the hands of a real person at some point and you want it to read naturally. If your resume reads like a plugged up copy of several words, you may get it looked at, but you won’t get that phone call about the interview.
Using keywords are essential when writing your resume because they can quickly set you apart from the rest of the crowd. Just remember that using keywords in your resume and not committing ‘keyword overkill’ is a delicate balance that needs to be met in order to give yourself the best possible shot at landing the job of your dreams.

Need a Good Vampire Novel…
November 30, 2009
Having trouble finding a good book? If you want something with a half-breed vampire out for vengeance by killing her own kind this might be your series. This was a refreshing new look at the way vampire meets vampire hunter. Creative with an interesting love story you really don’t see coming. With ghouls, ghost, and demons this series developed a whole new world that keeps you interested and in suspense throughout each book.
Each book takes you a little deeper into the world Jeaniene Frost has created. Now I’m not going to give a lot away in each of these briefs. In fact I’m giving you nothing at all except what I thought. This is one series you have to take on your own. Even the smallest hint can give something major away. I know my sister did it to me, and she really didn’t tell me much! I love books that you really don’t know what’s going on until the end. This one even throws you at the end…especially Destined for an Early Grave.
All four of these novels can still be found in your local bookstore or online. Jeaniene Frost also has her own website, just type her name in any search engine and you’ll find her. Happy reading!
Halfway to the Grave~
The nail-biting suspense was a very new way of redirecting us vampire lovers. It was cleverly written, and had a nice base of humor. It was unquestionably one of my more better reads. The best part of this in particular novel was right when you think you got it the end figured out she throws something else at you.
One Foot in the Grave~
Book two in the series was a mixed read for me. I really didn’t know how to take this one at first. I don’t want to give to much away here, but how the whole thing came together seemed to throw me a little. If you ended up like me, you’ll read the next one just to see where she’s going with it. Not that it was bad or anything. In fact I really enjoyed it.
At Grave’s End~
Book three picked up the game again from the moment you open this book. Some parts were a little predictable but the story line kept you going on just to make sure you were right. Although the ending kind of made me a little apprehensive about the next book. I like little guessing games, although this book made me rethink the whole love story between Cat and Bones.
Destined for an Early Grave~
Honestly, It just felt a little drawn out as if she was making this whole story up just to set up another serious altogether. Now I’m not saying it was a complete waist of time. It was a very good read. I liked the steady stream of humor, the nice feel for the characters, and the way it gets you hyped for the next. Only you find out the
next isn’t Night Huntress. Fine by me…bring it Jeaniene!

How to Catch a Rat (or Mouse)
November 30, 2009
Let me just say, before we get started, that there aren’t a ton of ways to catch a rat, mouse, or other type of vermin without killing it.
To be clear: If you want the rodent caught, with a better than 99% success rate, then I am your man. If you want the rodent alive, I may or may not be of assistance.
With that disclaimer out of the way, let’s get started. The first problem many people have, is that they are not sure if they even have a rodent in the first place.
The scenario generally plays out like this: The homeowner goes to get a pot or pan out of the bottom of the cabinet, and there is evidence that a mouse of some sort has been there already.
Now, evidence, for the sake of this article, will be excrement of some kind. By excrement, I mean poop. It will be about the size of a grain of rice, and it is usually tightly clustered. Not to gross you out or anything, but there will usually be 5-9 “pellets” in the same general area.
The first thing you want to do when you find something like this, is to determine whether it is a recurring problem or not. Wipe out the area with some disinfectant, like Lysol. Put your pans into the dishwasher, and disinfect them as well.
Next, look around your kitchen for more “evidence”. Search your cabinets for food packaging that may have been compromised. It will generally have a triangle shaped hole in it, and there will crumbs of food scattered about. Throw it away immediately. Once again, clean up, and disinfect.
Notice how I keep emphasizing cleanliness. Mice are tiny animals, who like dark, claustrophobic spaces. If they have a food source nearby, there is no need for them to venture out and explore. A lack of crumbs will ensure that they have to forage.
Next, it’s time to lay out the traps. Start by putting them where you found the evidence of visitation. Humans have a saying that you don’t… um…poop where you eat. Mice don’t have that problem. They’ll return to the same spot, again and again.
In addition to food areas, you will want to lay traps on the way to water. Mice get thirsty, too. The swiftest way to catch them is to make sure that traps are on the way to both food and water.
Now we move on to types of traps. This section is the part that gives me the most pause. I don’t like killing things. However, when they are costing my money, spoiling my food, and possibly spreading disease, I make myself take care of things.
The trap that is familiar to most people is a traditional mouse trap. It’s the “instant kill” type of trap. A piece of wood, with bait in the middle, and a really strong, spring powered arm that comes down hard on the rat/mouse. It is humane, insofar as it kills quickly. It’s not safe to use if you have children, or if you walk around in the dark. I’ve heard more than one story of a broken toe. It is quite effective.
The next type of trap is the tunnel trap. I personally don’t like this type of trap, as it requires a great deal of curiosity on the part of an animal. Most animals are not that dumb. Basically, the trap is round, and when the mouse moves past a certain point, the trap rotates and closes. I have had zero success with this type of trap. Plus, if the mouse gets caught, it may be left to starve for several days. It is both ineffective, and less humane.
The best type of trap, from my experience, is the glue trap. No, not the “flypaper on steroids” type trap. I would picture this trap like a small, glue lagoon (the brand I use is CatchMaster). The mouse runs over it, and is caught. There’s no bait to mess with, no misfires, and if your toddler walks over it, the worst consequence is cleaning off a really sticky foot. It is highly effective.
A warning as far as the humane aspect of a glue trap. You need to check them daily. The mouse is stuck, and panicking. You need to put it out of its misery as soon as possible. I generally grab another glue trap, and put it on top of the first, while pressing firmly. Yes, it is hard to know that you killed something. Such is life.
Before we move on, there are two other options for catching a mouse. One kills, the other doesn’t. I hear many people suggest poison. I don’t like it. First of all, it requires the rat/mouse to ingest poison. It will then poop itself to death, go off and die somewhere, and be found at the worst possible time. Believe me, you will go to cook Thanksgiving dinner, and find a dried-up mouse in your pot.
Another option is a so-called “live trap”. Now, provided you don’t care when you catch the mouse, this is a good option. If you want to empty him back into his woodland home, so he can explain to the rest of the mice, where the food is, then go for it. He can then be killed by a hawk or a cat, and you won’t have to sully your conscience.
As you can see, there’s not much more to catching mice. Just in case you’ve forgotten, let’s recap:
1. Check for “evidence”.
2. Clean and disinfect surfaces(and utensils) that are soiled.
3. Remove food sources that may keep mice fed.
4. Place traps near food and water sources for rodents.
5. Check them frequently, so that they do not suffer for long.
Hopefully, this problem will not be around for long, and you won’t become a rodent serial-killer. To make sure of this, you can buy rodent repellents, either in sonic, or powder form. Make the investment to keep mice away, and looking for food elsewhere.
That’s all I have to give on this subject. If you’ve anything to add, you can always leave your suggestions in the comments. Thanks, and may you return to a life of mouse-free normalcy shortly.

How to Wear Silk Scarves
November 30, 2009
Silk scarves embody classic romantic elements as well as modern fashion features. Women love silk scarves because it makes them feel elegant and beautiful, especially since silk scarves are launched in Europe and America. Using an aesthetic design and compositions in its patterns is what make Hermes famous. The silk scarf with a badge pattern is recognized as an art piece which was produced to celebrate the marriage of Prince Charles and Diana in 1981. Silk scarves can be worn in many unconventional ways and are not only used on the head or hair. There are many ways to tie silk scarves.
Highlighting the neck can show off any woman’s beauty. If a silk scarf is used to decorate your slender elegant neck, you could be even more beautiful. Choose a strong contrast or similar color scarf when pairing with a low neck shirt with a large collar. The neck scarf can outline the line of beauty if tie the scarf around the neck lining with the outer edge of the collar. You should select a soft oblong scarf, if you wear a masculine suit in the winter. You can decorate the scarf inside the collar so the scarf can partially cover the suit collar. A clean cut hair style gives an added attraction. When collarless suits are favored, the scarves purpose can not be ignored. Choose two different scarves: one should be a different color and the second one should be a complimentary color. Combine those two scarves into a layering collar which looks natural and interesting.
A sophisticated accessory is a triangle shaped scarf and they have a major role within the fashion world. To tie this style, take both ends of the scarf and fold it into a triangle that is wrapped around the shoulders, then attach over one shoulder with a pin. In order to show off your beautiful figure, wear a natural hanging silk scarf that moves with the body.
Women can use the neckties traditionally used by only men to add and edgy modern concept to their wardrobe. The scarf can be folded oblong and then tied into a knot. A scarf goes well with something like a pretty but simplistic shirt, so as to give the scarf something to offset and contrast perfectly while it’s covering the neck. The loosely tied scarf gives you a flying feel in the sky and feels more confident.
If you go with a collarless, round collar, or a low V-neck T-shirt, you may not feel harmonized somewhere which is caused by the empty neck. Using the butterfly knot is artistically appealing and will camouflage any shortcomings. A plain style dress is well complemented by a butterfly knot. A butterfly knot tied from a small silk scarf will accentuate a tailored dress, but a larger scarf will go with loose fitted suits.
In winter shawls are used as scarves which will be larger in size. You could wear the shawl scarves either on the shoulder or just hang on the bend of the arm.
A scarf around women waist will highlight how sleder they are. Have your girls try scarves with a similar color instead of a boring jean belt. It not only enhances a sense of trend, but also demonstrates your personal style.
womens scarves can have many creative ways to wear and you could have your own smart ways to tie scarves including mens silk scarves.
Tips For You To Choose The Most Perfect Wedding Venue
November 30, 2009
There is no doubt that your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life. In fact, you might dream about your wedding when you are still a little girl. To this end, you will certainly want to make your event as perfect and unique as possible.

You will need to consider some practical issues when you are choosing your perfect location for your wedding.
As a matter of fact, you will need to have a complete guest list before you choose your venue. If it is not totally possible for you to do so, you will need to at least make sure that you will be have a rough idea about the number of guests you will invite. This is because you need to consider the size of the venue you will need. You will not choose a place which can accommodate 200 people if you are going to invite 50 guests only.
It is also very essential that you consider your budget before you make your final decision
on the venue. It is very true that it can be perfect to have the event in a beautiful hotel ballroom. However, it is also true that it can be expensive for you to rent such a place. As a result, you may not want to go for a 5-star hotel if your budget does not allow to do so.

November 30, 2009
The idea of green weddings is very hot today. As a matter of fact, brides and grooms may want to may sure that their events will be environmental friendly. To this end, you will also want to make sure that you will be planning a wedding which is really eco-friendly. You will help to save our earth to this end.

Taking your wedding ceremony and reception as an example, you may need to arrange some kind of transportation if they are in different locations. To this end, some fuel will certainly need to used. To this end, you may want to make the two locations to be within a walking distance. Your guests do not need to take a vehicle and this will help to save fuel.
The idea of embodied energy is always considered when it comes to an environmental event. In order to build a sustainable building, architects will try to make sure that the materials used to build the building will be local materials so that there will be less embodied energy. This idea can also be applied to your wedding. You can serve foods which can be found in the region of the venue. This means that there will be less embodied energy and you can help to save the earth.
Besides the embodied energy, you will need to make sure that you will not be preparing too much food. There can be a lot of wastes after a wedding reception. This is because the brides and grooms prepare too much food. To this end, you may want to make sure that you will prepare the right amount of foods. If there are any leftover after your reception, you should try to donate the foods.
If you are going to have a Chinese wedding, be sure that you will not have shark fins in your menu. The point here is that it is very common for couples to have shark fins in a Chinese reception. Yet, we should try to protect the sharks, as well as our earth. There is no point to serve shark fins in the reception.
You should also avoid unnecessary packages. There can be a beautiful packaging for your wedding favors. However, this boxes can be something unnecessary. You should try to avoid using these packaging boxes. You will create less waste to this end.
You should go for the idea of renting if you can do so. For example, you may want to get some pillars for your wedding cake. However, you should not try to buy them. They will be something useless to you after your reception. As a result, it will be a better idea for you to rent them. This is also true for the flowers. It can be a good idea to use silk flowers since they can be reused.
Remember the above points will make sure that you will be able to plan a green wedding!

Wedding Decoration Ideas & Tips
November 30, 2009
When it comes to decorating for your wedding, it can be very expensive when it comes to the flowers, hiring a wedding planner and all of the elements involved in making your wedding beautiful. If you are on a budget, there are many things you can do yourself that will help you save money and keep your costs low. One of the most costly portions of putting on a wedding involves using flowers for decoration. If you decide to use flowers, one money-saving tip is to do your own arrangements. This is not as difficult as it may sound and can be done easily if you limit the types and colors of flowers that you choose. Choose at the most two colors and/or kinds of flowers along with a standard type of vase to put them in to help keep things uniform. Then, you can arrange one white flower, for example, surrounded by four red flowers giving you a very simple and at the same time elegant presentation. When you purchase flowers make sure that you get varieties that are sturdy and long-lasting which will prevent wilting before the big day. You also want to make sure that you plan well in advance for making the arrangements so that they can be efficiently put together shortly before the wedding. This also make sure that the flowers look fresh when you want them to.
This tip is also very useful when making the boutineers and corsages for the wedding party. These can be simply made using supplies that are found at your local craft store. You can use real flowers, but you might consider choosing fake flowers, which not only mimic their real cousins but also are very inexpensive and at same time will create a permanent memory of your wedding. Again, keep things simple limit the colors and types that you choose to make arranging the flowers easier. False flowers are also wonderful to use for pew end decorations, table centerpieces, and any other accents you desire for the space. If you do not want to have to make your own flower arrangements you can also plan your wedding around the time of year when the establishment will be already decorated. Many churches will be adorned with lilies around Easter time, and also during the Christmas holidays with lots of pointsettas. These flowers are both beautiful and striking their color, form and arrangement that will accent your wedding beautifully. This can also save you a lot of money.
You also don’t have to do all the work yourself but you can get everyone involved in helping. For example, have a “decorating party” at a set date before the ceremony so that you’ll have many hands to help you put things together and set them up. This will ensure that you get everything done in time while having fun doing it. Using the tips offered above for decorating your wedding is in flowers you will stay within your budget and take the stress out of the big day.
