Successful Dating - When You Can’t Date the Person You Want You Can Still Have Dating Success
August 30, 2009
Just about everyone has been in love with someone who didn’t love them back. Instead, while you’re waiting for your perfect match, or the person you’re want, it’s okay to date others. It keeps your options open. You can learn what you like and you might realize you’re unattainable crush isn’t what you want, after all. And if he or she still is, you’ll have a much more successful dating relationship when you do get together if you’re sure.
Get Out There
Successful dating requires making yourself available. How do you know if Mr. Perfect or Ms. Right is really who you want unless you’re meeting other people? Even if you’re not necessarily interested in dating anyone else, it gives you the opportunity to make new friends and you can probably run into some pretty cool people.
This also gives you the opportunity to present a side to yourself that Mr. Perfect or Ms. Right doesn’t know about. Your fun, you don’t sit around moping and other people like you. Successful dating sometimes has just as much to do with perception as it does the actual relationship.
Some ways to get out there and enjoy successful dating relationships while waiting for the one you want include:
• Taking a college class
• Going to the bar
• Going to church
• Partaking in community events
• Joining a club or organization
• Volunteering
